FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New book proposes a democratic alternative to the United Nations
The Breedo Way to Peace on Earth presents Alvin J. Brideau’s proposal for a United Democratic Republic Nations (UDRN).
MARGATE, FLORIDA — Retired Police Lieutenant and former Acting Chief of Police Alvin J. Brideau announces The Breedo Way to Peace on Earth, a new book proposing that democratic and republican nations establish a stronger international organization devoted to freedom, accountability, human rights, and lasting peace.
The proposed United Democratic Republic Nations, known as the UDRN, would bring democratic nations together while preventing authoritarian governments from using veto power to block action against crimes, aggression, and human-rights abuses.
The UDRN proposal includes a World Court with meaningful authority and coordinated enforcement powers. Democratic nations could work together to issue arrest warrants, freeze assets, impose travel restrictions, and hold leaders accountable for crimes against humanity, wrongful imprisonment, torture, rape, and the murder of innocent civilians.
The proposal would not discard the valuable humanitarian work already performed through the United Nations. Effective departments, experienced employees, administrative systems, and useful infrastructure could remain in operation. The principal reforms would address voting, veto power, enforcement, accountability, and the protection of innocent people.
People throughout the world should not be left helpless when their relatives are wrongfully imprisoned, tortured, or killed. Democratic nations must stand together and create a system capable of protecting innocent people.
— Alvin J. Brideau
The book is intended to begin an international public discussion. Government leaders, human-rights organizations, members of the media, civic groups, and readers are invited to examine the UDRN proposal and offer constructive responses.

Subject: A Proposal to Replace the Present United Nations With the United Democratic Republic Nations
Dear Editor / Mr. O’Reilly:
I am asking you to consider a story and an international proposal that I believe deserves serious public discussion.
I have written a book entitled The Breedo Way to Peace on Earth. The book proposes replacing the present United Nations system with a new organization called the United Democratic Republic Nations (UDRN).
I have now sent President Donald J. Trump a letter asking him to consider the proposal and asking the United States to take a leadership role in beginning an international discussion about it. I am enclosing a copy of that letter.
My next step is to send the proposal to leaders of democratic nations throughout the world and ask for their opinions and participation.
The basic question is:
Why should governments that murder, torture, wrongfully imprison and persecute innocent people be permitted to exercise extraordinary power within an international organization that is supposed to protect world peace and human rights?
Behind every statistic is a human being.
There are mothers whose children have been murdered. There are families whose loved ones have disappeared into prisons. There are innocent people sitting in cells because they challenged a government. There are women and children who have suffered terrible violence during wars and political repression.
The democratic world should ask whether our present international system is doing enough for these people.
The Breedo Way proposes a different international organization composed of nations committed to democratic government, individual liberty, human rights and the rule of law.
Among its proposals are a World Court with meaningful but legally defined enforcement authority, international arrest warrants for individuals properly charged with serious international crimes, freezing assets where authorized by law, collective security among democratic nations, and stronger international action to protect innocent people.
The concept also calls for examining whether resources presently devoted to international bureaucracy and unnecessary military expenditures could eventually be redirected toward humanitarian causes, including fighting famine, helping children and families, protecting the environment and assisting people suffering throughout the world.
This is not intended to be the final word on international government. It is intended to start the conversation.
I am asking journalists, commentators and editors to examine the proposal, question it, debate it and, most importantly, ask whether democratic nations can build something better.
I also intend that most of the profits I receive from The Breedo Way to Peace on Earth will be directed to charitable and humanitarian causes.
I would welcome an opportunity to discuss The Breedo Way, the proposed UDRN and the letter I have sent to President Trump.
I respectfully ask you to review the enclosed material and consider bringing this proposal before your audience.
Freedom is not free, and peace requires action.
Respectfully,
Alvin J. Brideau
