Alvin J. Brideau

My comments & priorities

My first priority is freeing people who are wrongfully imprisoned. The UDRN proposal calls on democratic nations to protect innocent people and hold those who abuse power accountable.

Selected statements from my letters and media release.

Protect innocent people

People throughout the world should not be left helpless when their relatives are wrongfully imprisoned, tortured, or killed.

Keep what works

I also propose that we preserve what presently works within the United Nations. Useful humanitarian agencies, experienced employees, administrative systems, international health programs, food assistance, refugee programs, and other successful operations should not simply be discarded.

Justice requires due process

Every accused person must receive due process. Political disagreement must never become a crime. Evidence must determine guilt—not politics. But political power should not place anyone permanently beyond the reach of justice.

Begin the conversation

America should not dictate the final UDRN Charter. America should start the conversation.
